Report requested by Starfleet Command in relation to a recent assignment. As is to be expected of Starfleet Captains, this evaluation was not taken of their own initiative.

Background Information:
Subject shows no history of substance or holodeck addiction. The subject does not use holodecks for recreational purposes under normal circumstances, maintaining use strictly for simulation and training. Subject will seek holographic recreation when other avenues of distraction are unavailable. An attempt at a healthy social life is shown, but the subject states regret at duties preventing such.
Behavioral Observations:
- Receptive to medical orders
- Finds humour in comments made by Dr. Hasparak.
- Deals well with multiple sources of information simultaneously.
- Showed specific care in analyzing information given in Verbal comprehension test.
- Subject shows an eagerness to do 'well' in the evaluation. Overly so.
- Subject is hesitant to admit personal fault, relying on collective statistic and reasoning to mask any perceived faults as normal.
- Subject has a tendency to avoid direct personal questions. Preferring to state answers in abstracts.




Verbal Comprehension:

Subject shows a tendency to focus on moral issues while disregarding technical and logistical parts of the test passage.

Subject shows hesitation in recalling events of previous parts of the test. Relying on association to deliver accurate recollection.

Processing Speed:


Processing speed is at acceptable levels for a Human mind. A minor delay in answers during the word association tests suggest that the subject may show split-second hesitation while regarding extremely emotional decisions. However this hesitation is well within the acceptable level for emotionally liberal species.

Social-Emotional Functioning

Subject shows a distinct aversion to being singled out, and will go to great lengths to mask herself as part of a collective. Subject draws an immense amount of identity from position as a Starfleet officer, and has difficulty separating herself from the ideals of Starfleet.

Summary:

Captain Allen is a competent officer, but needs time to mature into the role of Captain. It is the opinion of this evaluator that, for the time being, Captain Allen should be supervised closely by overseeing officers and would benefit greatly from working with more experienced Captains.

Background Information:
Subject shows apprehension to the examination, has trouble carrying out casual conversation pending the official evaluation. Exhibits a healthy use of holodecks for recreation, focusing on 'comic' designs. These programs appear very fantastic, and have little to do with reality. I would compare them to the 'Adventures of Flotter' series.
Behavioral Observations:
- Likes to be prepared for all examinations and tests.
- Seeks variety in stimuli
- Shows a prediction for 'big picture' thinking. Sacrificing details in the process.
- Showed specific care in analyzing information given in Verbal comprehension test.
- Subject is hesitant to admit personal fault, achievement, instead posing larger philosophical questions as a form of distraction.
- Subject has a tendency to avoid direct personal questions. Preferring to state answers in reference to group, rather than individual.

Subject shows great strength of technical analysis, and nearly Vulcan attention to detail.

Subject has issues recalling irrelevant information, from the start of the test. and confused two proper nouns. This is not unexpected of an Andorian.

Processing Speed:


Processing speed is at acceptable levels for the Andorian mind. The subject may show split-second hesitation while regarding extremely emotional decisions. However this hesitation is well within the acceptable level for emotionally liberal species.

Social-Emotional Functioning

Subject is averse to being caught unprepared. She shows suspicion towards groups she feels may pose a threat to the Federation, but is willing to work with old enemies in the interest of peace. The subject questions the ability of any individual to make a difference within the wider conflicts of the galaxy.

Summary:

Captain Nylassa sh'Alundi shows aptitude for command decisions and decisive information processing. It is not foreseen that there will be any emotional issues effecting decisions in any negative way. However the Captain feels that on a personal, or ship level she may not be able to do enough, and as such may be vulnerable to actions that will provide significant change, without regards to stability. Monthly counselling sessions are recommended to improve issues of self esteem related to this.
